Trends come and go quickly in modern fashion but there are a select few trends that stay around long enough to become fashion staples. In the past half century the best example would be the denim jean. A velour tracksuit seems to be the latest new staple in our wardrobe.
The velour tracksuit seems to be staying put in stores unlike other trends. Most retailers have designed a velour tracksuit every season for the past few years. Two years on the fashion scene is an age in modern styling.
Celebrities were the first to bring velour tracksuits into the mainstream. Britney Spears used pink velour tracksuits for her bridesmaids in her wedding to K-Fed. Then the WAGs were spotted styling themselves in an array of different coloured velour tracksuits whilst their other halves were playing in international competitions.
Now of course they are a popular outfit on any high street. They combine comfort and style which makes them a favourite. But you need to make sure that the tracksuit you wear is made of good quality velour. You do not want it to shrink or get too big when it is washed. Also; you do not want the colour to fade during washing. The Tracksuit will be more trashy than trendy if the quality is bad.
For adults darker colours work best otherwise you may end up a little like mutton dressed as lamb. Definitely stay away from bright pinks and greens. Flattering colours include black, brown and navy.
Children however look gorgeous in brightly coloured velour tracksuits. Clothes which are comfy, practical and fashionable are hard to find for young girls. When you can get all three in one outfit you have found a winner. Children like wearing them because they are so easy to pull on and get off before and after swimming and other popular activities.
So with this in mind, take a look at tracksuits offered by different retailers. You will find some are better quality than others are. Retailers which sell other velour clothing will be a good choice.
