Are You Sure You Are Providing Your Child With All Of The Things They Require?
Brought to you by West Ridge Academy.
When it comes to video games, food, and music, do you know what are your children’s favorite? Are you aware of your child’s daily needs? Just when you feel as if you have it all figured out, children prove that it cannot be that easy and they change things on you. Anyway, a few basic needs of the children should be realized by the parents. If we stay consistent and provide these needs when they are young hen they can move through life’s challenges successfully. Last summer, we collaborated and came up with the 5 things every child needs from his or her parents.
You must listen to your child with your ears and heart! On occasion your child may tell you what they want in words, but they are not saying what they need. Sometimes acting out is a child’s way of indirectly showing you what they are lacking and what they need from you.
Their importance should be made known to your child. When other people value them, children learn to value themselves. We should strive to gauge the good things in them, and let them know- because they fail to realize it themselves sometimes. When they feel as if they matter to you, they will feel important in general.
Touching allows your child to feel connected. Usually, children connect better through touch as opposed to words. If they learn that they are safe and can be comfortable around you, they will feel connected and that they are physically bonding with you because they love you.
Feeling safe and secure is what the child needs to feel. An organized and structured home will give children a feeling of safety and also assist them in understanding the world by seeing how things are connected.
Your young son or daughter needs to make decisions. Allowing children to make decisions allows them to have some sort of control in the world. Children will learn the valuable lesson that choices also come with consequences from mistakes.
By being emotionally and physically available to our children through touch, smile, understanding and most importantly love, they will be given the opportunity to flourish from childhood and into adulthood.
